“Wales Police Close Roads as Third Unexploded Bomb Found”

Must read

Police in Wales have shut down roads after the discovery of a third unexploded wartime bomb in four months, causing concern among residents. Nearby supermarkets, a building site, restaurants, and offices have been evacuated, with the public advised to stay away from the area. This incident, following two similar discoveries in July, has disrupted transportation services, with all rail services between Cardiff Central and Swansea affected, leading to road closures and traffic congestion.

A significant part of the town center is now under restricted access, with emergency measures in place. South Wales Police issued a statement urging people to avoid specific areas and evacuated several premises as a precaution. Local MP Chris Elmore acknowledged the situation, advising the public to expect delays in the affected areas. The Bridgend County Borough Council spokesperson emphasized the importance of following police advice and staying updated through social media channels.

Transport disruptions were highlighted by GWR and Transport for Wales, with train services and road transport being affected. This recent discovery adds to the previous incident in the summer when a shopping street was evacuated due to the finding of an unexploded ordnance device.
