“Verstappen’s Penalty Points Reduced Ahead of Brazilian GP”

Must read

Max Verstappen has had three penalty points removed from his record, easing concerns about a potential race ban prior to the Brazilian Grand Prix. His current penalty point total is now six, providing a more comfortable position as he and his competitor, Oliver Bearman, approach the final rounds of the season.

Both Verstappen and Bearman delivered strong performances at the Mexican Grand Prix, finishing in third and fourth places, respectively. Bearman achieved a career-best result, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.

Following the race, the FIA made adjustments to both drivers’ penalty points in adherence to sporting regulations. Verstappen’s two penalty points for incidents in Mexico and Brazil have been expunged from his record. Bearman, who was close to a race ban after a collision with Carlos Sainz, saw his penalty point total reduced to eight after points were removed for an incident with Franco Colapinto in Brazil.

In a separate incident, Bearman received a time penalty for exceeding track limits during a race with Kimi Antonelli, although this did not result in additional penalty points on his FIA super license.

Not only Verstappen and Bearman saw changes in their penalty point tallies this weekend; championship contender Oscar Piastri also had two points removed from his license due to an incident with Liam Lawson at last year’s Sao Paulo race.

The adjustments provide some relief for Verstappen, Bearman, and Piastri as they navigate the intense championship battle. With Norris taking a slight lead in the Drivers’ Championship following his recent victory in Mexico City, the competition is heating up.

Piastri faces significant pressure as he tries to keep up with his rivals, having lost a substantial lead over the past five rounds. Verstappen acknowledges the need for flawless performances to secure his fifth consecutive title, emphasizing the importance of winning every race moving forward.
