Before achieving a £25 million valuation as a global fashion brand, Daily Paper began as a small blog managed by Amsterdam-based friends Jefferson Osei, Abderrahmane Trabsini, and Hussein Suleiman. Established in 2008, the blog aimed to honor their shared Ghanaian, Moroccan, and Somali backgrounds, predating the influencer trend.
During a discussion at Black Tech Fest, co-founder Jefferson Osei highlighted how their cultural roots inspired the brand’s journey. As demand surged, Daily Paper extended beyond online presence to physical stores, initially through pop-up ventures across Europe. The success of these temporary setups led to a permanent store in Amsterdam West, the neighborhood where their story began.
Today, with established outlets in Amsterdam, London, and New York, Daily Paper symbolizes cultural pride on a global scale. Beyond fashion, the brand’s mission centers on reshaping perceptions of Africa through positive representation.
