“Sainsbury’s to Merge Chop Chop Rapid Delivery App with Main App”

Must read

Sainsbury’s has decided to discontinue its Chop Chop rapid delivery app, opting to merge the service into its primary app instead. Initially launched in 2016, Chop Chop aimed to deliver groceries within 60 minutes for an extra fee and was accessible in 50 Sainsbury’s stores.

Regular users of the app may have observed that the standalone Chop Chop app has been taken down. Attempts to download it now redirect users to the main Sainsbury’s app. Jim Banks, Sainsbury’s head of experience design, announced this change on LinkedIn, stating that the integration aimed to simplify the shopping experience for customers.

Banks expressed gratitude to the teams involved in merging the apps, emphasizing that this move streamlines the ecosystem and enhances the shopping process. Chop Chop had been a direct competitor to Tesco’s Whoosh rapid delivery service, promising deliveries in as little as 20 minutes.
