Tesco is currently in the process of considering a significant adjustment to its Clubcard program. The Tesco Clubcard offers discounts to members on specific items in stores, allowing shoppers to accumulate points that can be exchanged for vouchers. However, the scheme is restricted to individuals over 18, a policy criticized by Which? for being unfair to younger customers. A spokesperson for Tesco stated, “We are actively reviewing Tesco Clubcard with the intention of making Clubcard available to under-18s this year.” Reena Sewraz, Retail Editor at Which?, emphasized the importance of access to the Clubcard for shoppers managing their expenses, citing the significant savings it can offer. She expressed satisfaction that Tesco has chosen to address the issue, viewing it as a positive step that must be promptly implemented.

Under the current system, Tesco customers earn one Clubcard point for every £1 spent on groceries in-store or online, or for every two liters of fuel purchased at Tesco petrol stations.
