Superdrug has announced intentions to launch 30 new stores in the coming year, leading to the creation of approximately 600 job opportunities. Among the planned locations for these new sites in England are White Rose Leeds, Crawley, Waterlooville Retail Park, Newport Retail Park, and Isle of Wight.
Additionally, Superdrug is set to expand its presence in Scotland with new stores in Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Kilmarnock Retail Park, East Kilbride, Strathkelvin Retail Park, and Linwood Phoenix Retail Park, along with Cwmbran Retail Park in Wales. These new stores will feature Superdrug Beauty Studios offering various treatments like ear piercing, manicures, and eyebrow threading.
In parallel, Superdrug aims to refurbish 60 stores throughout the year. The health and beauty retailer, which currently operates over 780 shops across the UK and Ireland, reported strong customer demand as the driving force behind its expansion plans.
Clare Jennings, Superdrug’s property director, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing exceptional retail experiences by investing in large-format destination stores and retail park locations. Jennings highlighted that the company’s growth strategy reflects the increasing demand for physical, experience-driven retail spaces within local communities.
Furthermore, M&S has unveiled a list of 500 potential new store locations in its quest to expand its food business. The retailer is seeking larger sites to accommodate a broader range of M&S Food products, with plans to double the size of its food business. M&S is planning to open or renew 20 stores by the end of the financial year, generating 800 new employment opportunities and enhancing the accessibility of its full range of food offerings.
