An individual who considers herself a noblewoman has rescinded her invitation to Prince Andrew citing receipt of “violent threats”.
Lady Carbisdale, identified as a barrister and entrepreneur, has possessed Carbisdale Castle, a 19-room estate, since 2022. She publicly declared on social media her offer of hosting Andrew at her property. Samantha Kane proposed the castle in Scotland’s Sutherland region as a more suitable location for the prince, in light of reports suggesting Andrew’s relocation to a smaller royal castle in the Scottish Highlands following allegations linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
Nevertheless, due to negative feedback from the public, Ms. Kane has retracted her offer but affirms that the venue remains at the disposal of the royal family “if and when necessary”.
In a message on Facebook, Ms. Kane stated: “I corresponded with his Majesty King Charles III and Prince Andrew, initially updating King Charles on the impressive restoration work carried out at Carbisdale Castle, which His Majesty was keenly monitoring.
“Regarding the offer of the Castle for Prince Andrew’s accommodation, and to support members of his Royal family, I also conveyed the public’s negative sentiments following my supportive gesture.
“Numerous opinions expressed hostility toward me for offering my Castle to the Prince, with some threats of violence and potential damage. In these circumstances, I believe the offer may not be feasible unless the Crown deems it appropriate to utilize Carbisdale Castle, which, naturally, remains available for the service of your Majesty or family members as required.”
On October 17, Prince Andrew announced his decision to relinquish his royal titles just prior to the publication of his accuser Virginia Giuffre’s memoir. The prince vehemently refutes the accusations and reached an out-of-court settlement in 2022, without admitting guilt.
In a statement released on October 17, he stated: “After discussions with The King and my immediate and extended family, we have concluded that the ongoing accusations against me detract from the duties of His Majesty and the Royal Family.
“Consistent with my commitment to prioritize my family and country, I continue to stand by my decision made five years ago to step back from public
