“Revitalize Your Mornings with Homemade Ginger Shots”

Must read

Getting out of bed in the morning can be tough, especially in colder weather when even a hot cup of coffee may not be enough to entice you out from under the covers. While many people rely on caffeinated beverages for an energy boost, a small, vibrant drink could be even more effective.

Creating your own ginger shots at home might provide excellent defense against common colds and viruses this winter, while also making early mornings more manageable. Gingerol, a natural compound present in ginger root, assists in stimulating gastrointestinal movement, which regulates the speed of food digestion.

Renowned chef Gordon Ramsay suggests that ginger can be sliced and infused in hot water for a ginger root tea, but a ginger shot is a more invigorating option in the morning, as reported by Lancs Live.

The Gordon Ramsay Academy describes these small drinks as “simple and quick to prepare.”

The academy states: “We enjoy a ginger shot for a morning pick-me-up, and they’re easy to make! Chef Vanessa has shared her preferred homemade ginger juice recipe, sweetened with a hint of apple and lemon.

“For a unique twist, experiment with turmeric, lime, or even chili if you’re feeling adventurous.”

To create the shot, you will need a sizable piece of ginger, an apple, and the juice and zest of a lemon.

Start by chopping the ginger and apple into small pieces – no need to peel them beforehand, according to Vanessa. To make the invigorating ginger shot, blend the ingredients together in a blender along with the lemon zest and juice.

If the mixture is too thick, feel free to add a splash of water to thin it out as needed.

Next, place a muslin cloth or tea towel over a clean container, pour the mixture through, and squeeze out all the juice before transferring it to a glass for immediate consumption.

If you’re not drinking it right away, store it in the refrigerator; it can stay fresh for up to five days – just remember to shake it well each time, as culinary expert Vanessa advises.

For a revitalizing twist, add grated turmeric and a touch of black pepper – they offer their own additional health benefits.

Ginger takes center stage in this blend, providing potent compounds such as gingerols and shogaols that offer various health perks.

Although ginger shots have become popular recently, the use of ginger as a remedy dates back centuries.
