Eddie Hearn hints at Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua showdown

Must read

Eddie Hearn has not dismissed the possibility of a surprising matchup between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua, as Paul seeks a new opponent. Initially scheduled to face Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis in Miami on November 14, the fight is now uncertain due to allegations of battery and kidnapping against Davis.

Paul’s promotional team, Most Valuable Promotions, has confirmed an investigation into the matter and is exploring alternative opponents. They stated, “We are actively investigating the civil lawsuit filed against Gervonta Davis in Miami-Dade County and are carefully evaluating the situation to ensure any decisions made are well-considered.”

While the replacement opponent remains undisclosed, potential contenders like Ryan Garcia, Edgar Berlanga, and even Joshua have been mentioned. Hearn, the promoter, hinted at the possibility of a bout with Paul when he stated, “Just inform me about the location.” This statement follows Hearn’s recent clarification that Joshua is unlikely to step into the ring again this year.

Joshua, who last fought against Daniel Dubois in September 2024, might miss fighting this year, marking the first time in his professional career without a match in a calendar year. As preparations for his next fight progress, Joshua is anticipated to return in February, with training already underway.

Sky has introduced discounted rates for its Essential TV and Sky Sports package for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering savings of £192 and featuring over 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL, and more.
