A homicide inquiry has been initiated after an elderly person was discovered fatally stabbed at a residence in a serene village.
Norfolk Police apprehended a 20-year-old individual in connection with the incident involving the 70-year-old victim at a property in Bowthorpe, Norfolk. The authorities responded to a disturbance reported by the ambulance service at Layer Close around 4:45 am. The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of murder and is currently under police supervision.
The deceased individual was pronounced dead at the scene. Detective Chief Inspector Kev Barber disclosed that both the victim and the suspect had a prior acquaintance. He stated, “Investigators will be striving to unravel the complete sequence of events that transpired this morning.”
“We can confirm that the individuals involved had a preexisting relationship, and there is no broader threat to public safety. We understand that this news is distressing, and our condolences go out to the family and companions of the deceased individual,” Barber added.
“If anyone possesses information that could aid our inquiry, we urge you to come forward and share it with us.”
