“Executed Killer Lisa Montgomery’s Chilling Parting Word”

Must read

A woman convicted of murdering a pregnant individual and stealing her unborn baby uttered a chilling final word before facing execution by lethal injection. Lisa Montgomery, 36, had traveled to meet Bobbie Jo Stinnett, a 23-year-old she had met online due to their mutual interest in dogs. Stinnett, who was eight months pregnant, was a dog breeder expecting her first child.

Under the pretense of buying a puppy, Montgomery gained entry into Stinnett’s home where she committed the gruesome act. She strangled Stinnett with a rope, then used a kitchen knife to extract the unborn child, intending to pass it off as her own. Montgomery was arrested the day after the incident, and the baby was safely returned to her family.

Following her trial, Montgomery was found guilty of murder and kidnapping, resulting in her placement on death row. In 2021, at the age of 52, she was executed in Indiana. When asked for any last words, she simply replied with a single “no.”

Montgomery’s troubled past came to light, revealing a history of severe abuse and trauma. She endured sexual assault and violence from a young age, mainly at the hands of her stepfather and others. Experts identified her experiences as prolonged torture, leading to severe mental health issues.

The execution of Montgomery, the first of a woman by the US government in 70 years, sparked debates surrounding her case and the lack of accountability for her abusers. Despite her tragic upbringing and mental health struggles, legal proceedings ultimately led to her execution without addressing the root causes of her actions.
