The families of three young girls who were tragically killed in the Southport incident are demanding accountability from the perpetrator’s parents for harboring such malevolence in their home. Following a thorough inquiry, the victims’ families expressed strong disapproval towards Axel Rudakubana’s parents for their perceived lack of responsibility and excuses during the proceedings.
In scathing statements, the families asserted that Rudakubana’s parents were aware of his capacity for violence when he carried out the brutal attack on a group of children at a dance class. Rudakubana, now 19, is currently serving a 52-year prison sentence for the murders of Bebe King, 6, Elsie Dot Stancombe, 7, and Alice Da Silva Aguiar, 9, in July of the previous year.
Representing the bereaved families, Nicholas Bowen KC conveyed their complete disdain for the excuses provided by Mr. Rudakubana’s parents and their evasive responses. As the initial phase of the inquiry concluded, the parents of the deceased girls called for Rudakubana’s parents to be held responsible for their failure to intervene and exercise control.

Bebe’s parents described the testimony of the killer’s parents as disgraceful, questioning their neglect of parental duties that could have prevented the devastating loss of innocent lives. Similarly, Alice’s parents expressed their belief that the failure of Rudakubana’s parents to act upon clear warning signs directly contributed to the tragic outcome.
