Westlife’s Shane Filan Forgets Lyrics on Live TV

Must read

Westlife singer Shane Filan had a memorable moment on live TV when he forgot the lyrics to a song. The 46-year-old star rose to fame in the late 1990s as part of the Irish boyband alongside Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, Brian McFadden (who left in 2004), and Mark Feehily (currently on hiatus due to health issues). The trio recently made a comeback with their single “Chariot,” featured in their upcoming greatest hits album “25,” which includes popular tracks like “You Raise Me Up” and “Uptown Girl,” with “Chariot” as a bonus addition.

During a performance on The Late Late Show in Ireland, Shane had to step in for Mark, who was absent, and struggled to recall the correct lyrics. Host Patrick Kielty humorously pointed out Shane’s improvised rendition at the end of the performance, leading to a lighthearted exchange between them.

Explaining the mishap, Shane jokingly blamed his forgotten lines on Mark, mentioning how he had to improvise during the performance. Despite the lyric mix-up, Shane expressed that it was a fun experience.

At the show’s conclusion, Patrick presented the band with a Late Late Show award, acknowledging their 25-year contribution to the music industry and representing Ireland worldwide. Westlife expressed their gratitude and anticipation for upcoming celebrations, revealing plans for new music, special shows, and surprises in honor of their milestone anniversary.

Unfortunately, Mark Feehily will be absent from the anniversary celebrations due to health reasons. Westlife expressed hope for his return to the stage when he is ready and extended his love and positivity to fans. The band, comprising Kian, Nicky, and Shane, commemorated their 25-year journey in the music industry, thanking fans for their unwavering support and loyalty throughout the years.
