“High-pressure System Causes TV Signal Issues for Freeview Users”

Must read

This weekend, much of the UK is expected to have warm weather, but Freeview users might face signal issues due to a high-pressure system. TV signals struggle in current conditions, affecting viewers wanting to watch content. The BBC explained that high pressure can lead to weaker reception and signal interference from distant transmitters.

Freeview has issued guidance as warm weather and high pressure are forecasted until Monday. Viewers may experience disruption in TV reception due to the effect on Freeview signals. It is recommended not to retune TVs during this period, as reception should normalize once the high pressure passes.

While such weather-related disruptions occur periodically, viewers can still enjoy their favorite shows. Smart TVs with internet access can switch to Freeview Play for online live or on-demand viewing. Additionally, internet-connected TVs with channel apps can access services like BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, and 5. The Freeview mobile app is also available for free download to watch content.

Another option is Freely, a streaming platform by the group behind Freeview and Freesat. Freely offers over 50 live and on-demand channels, unaffected by weather conditions as it delivers content through broadband. Features include pausing live TV, personalized recommendations, and an interactive guide for program schedules.
