Morrisons has issued an important alert regarding one of its products, raising concerns about a potential health risk for certain individuals. Customers are urged to return affected batches of the supermarket’s own-brand ‘Savers Salad Cream’ with batch codes ‘L25 122’ to their nearest stores for a full refund.
The recall is due to the possible presence of undeclared egg and mustard in the product, which are not listed on the label. Morrisons specified that products with a date code of Best Before End AUG/2026, Batch L25 122, are affected by this issue.
The supermarket emphasized that no other products are impacted by this recall and apologized for any inconvenience caused. They reassured customers of their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety.
According to the Government’s Food Standards Agency (FSA), the affected Savers Salad Cream batches have a best-before date of August 2026 and come in 420g bottles.
In a general explanation of product recalls, the FSA highlighted the reasons behind withdrawing or recalling food products, especially if there are risks related to missing or incorrect allergy labeling.
For those who have purchased the recalled Savers Salad Cream, Morrisons advised not consuming it and returning it to any Morrisons store for a full refund, without needing a receipt. For inquiries, customers can contact Morrisons Customer Services at 0345 611 6111.
In a separate incident, M&S is recalling a specific batch of ‘Milk Chocolate Honeycomb’ due to potential undeclared peanuts, which are not mentioned on the packaging. The affected packs, weighing 120g with a lot number of ‘5242’ and best-before dates of May 12, 2026, can be returned to any M&S store for a full refund.
M&S emphasized its commitment to customer safety and the seriousness with which they handle food production issues. The company urged individuals with peanut allergies or intolerances to avoid the affected product.
The FSA noted that M&S is working on recalling the product from customers and engaging with allergy support organizations to inform their members about the recall. The company has also issued point-of-sale notices to explain the reason behind the recall and guide customers on the necessary actions.
