However, there is a simple trick that can make cleaning these difficult areas much easier.
Professional cleaners from The Clean Group recently shared a useful tip on Instagram to address this common cleaning dilemma. The trick focuses on reaching tight spots where regular vacuum attachments cannot reach, such as narrow gaps between furniture or the tracks on folding doors.
The key to this hack is a simple household item – an empty toilet paper roll.
In a video demonstration on Instagram, the cleaning expert affixed the toilet paper roll tube to the end of the vacuum hose using an elastic band, creating a narrow nozzle.
By pinching the end of the tube to make it slender, she was able to slide it into the tight spaces, like the tracks of folding doors, allowing the vacuum to effectively suction up the trapped debris. Traditional attachments typically fail to reach these areas effectively.
After clearing out hard-to-reach dirt, the expert recommended using a microfiber cloth over the vacuum nozzle to clean skirting boards without needing to bend down. This method involves manually wiping the boards with a damp cloth attached to the vacuum hose, without turning on the vacuum.
The cleaner acknowledged that these unconventional tricks may seem odd but emphasized their effectiveness in achieving a spotless home.
