Bernie Ecclestone recently sold a yacht named after his daughters, Petra and Tamara, following his wife Fabiana’s revelation that they only utilized it for eight days annually. Another smaller yacht owned by the Formula 1 tycoon, stationed in Ibiza, is now also on the market, in contrast to the “Petara” yacht located in Croatia.
In an interview commemorating his 95th birthday on October 28, Ecclestone disclosed the sale of the yacht, stating that they no longer needed such a large vessel since they only spent a minimal time on it each year. Earlier this year, Ecclestone parted ways with his collection of F1 cars, selling them to Red Bull co-owner Mark Mateschitz for approximately £550 million. This sale occurred subsequent to a civil settlement with HMRC where Ecclestone paid over £500 million due to a failure in declaring overseas assets worth £400 million.
Despite these transactions, Ecclestone and his family still retain a substantial net worth exceeding £1.8 billion, as reported by Forbes. Alongside his third wife Fabiana and their five-year-old son Ace, Ecclestone currently resides in the scenic town of Gstaad, situated in the Swiss Alps.
Regarding his birthday celebrations, Ecclestone mentioned that his daughters had proposed a grand party, but he preferred a quieter celebration, opting to travel with Fabiana and Ace to his ranch in Brazil. His eldest daughter, Deborah, visited him in Gstaad before his birthday, turning 70 recently.
Fabiana, Ecclestone’s current wife, shared insights into their relationship, emphasizing their teamwork in raising Ace. She highlighted their coordinated efforts in parenting, mentioning that they set limits on screen time for Ace, with Ecclestone calmly enforcing rules when needed.
Ecclestone expressed admiration for Ace’s intelligence and potential, foreseeing a bright future for his son. Fabiana added that Ace, at a young age, already displayed a keen interest in skiing and had a diverse palate, enjoying a variety of foods with sushi being his favorite.
