According to a spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police, emergency services are addressing an incident in Coventry Street, W1, where a 57-year-old man was hit by a piece of masonry that fell from a building. The man is currently being treated by the London Ambulance Service and will be transported to the hospital by London’s Air Ambulance. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time, and the incident is still ongoing, with people advised to avoid the area.
London’s Ambulance Service reported being alerted at 2:27 pm on Tuesday about a person injured in Coventry Street, London, W1. They dispatched ambulance crews, an incident response officer, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and London’s air ambulance to the scene. The man was treated on-site before being taken to a London major trauma center for further care.
An eyewitness informed LBC that the object knocked the man down, causing a severe head injury with significant bleeding. The identity of the object that fell on the man has not been confirmed yet.
