In the absence of a comprehensive registry for heat-related deaths, estimating excess mortality during extreme heat periods remains a common practice. As climate change intensifies, experts emphasize the critical need for accurate documentation of heat-related illnesses and deaths to inform effective interventions and assess progress in addressing the escalating impact of extreme temperatures.
