“Nigel Farage Pressured Over MP’s Controversial LGBT-Hamas Link”

Must read

Nigel Farage is under increasing pressure to take action following a controversial statement made by one of his MPs, linking support for LGBT rights to endorsing Hamas.

During a Reform UK membership drive broadcast on YouTube, Danny Kruger, a former Tory member, suggested that the UK may soon be governed by an alliance that supports both LGBT rights and Hamas. This remark was strongly criticized by Labour MP Peter Swallow in the Commons, who emphasized the importance of LGBT rights as a cornerstone of British values.

Swallow urged fellow MPs to convey to Kruger and Reform that supporting LGBT rights is a fundamental British value and a core principle of Parliament. Kruger’s comments have stirred a debate on the alignment of values within political parties.

In response to the controversy, Polly Billington, Labour MP for East Thanet, condemned Kruger’s remarks as divisive and outdated, highlighting the negative impact such statements can have on communities. The call for condemnation was directed towards Nigel Farage, urging him to address the issue within his party.

The Mirror has reached out to Reform for a statement regarding the incident. Kruger, whose mother is TV personality Prue Leith, warned of a potential political landscape where a nationalist party supporting both Hamas and LGBT rights could gain power, emphasizing the need for Reform’s intervention to prevent such a scenario.
