“Worcestershire County Council Offers £500 Energy Bill Aid”

Must read

Struggling households in Worcestershire are encouraged to verify their eligibility for potential £500 energy bill assistance offered by Worcestershire County Council. To qualify, residents must reside in Malvern, Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove, Redditch, or Wyre Forest District, and have an annual gross household income of £24,570 or less if single with no children. For other households, the income limit is £31,000, excluding any received benefits, with no household savings and meeting specific vulnerability criteria.

Families with children under 18, or young adults up to 21 in full-time education, could receive up to £500, while other households may be eligible for up to £300 in energy support. Payments will be directed to the supplier or distributed as Post Office vouchers for pre-payment customers, accessible through the Act On Energy website.

This initiative is part of the Household Support Fund by Worcestershire County Council, aimed at aiding vulnerable families. Residents outside Worcestershire should inquire with their local council for available support options. For instance, Surrey County Council is granting up to £300 in supermarket vouchers to qualified individuals. Nottingham City Council is providing £100 vouchers to low-income or benefit recipients, with distribution occurring randomly among successful applicants. Wakefield Council is distributing food vouchers to low-income households receiving council tax assistance.

Moreover, pensioners receiving Council Tax Support have received a £70 voucher in November, with additional vouchers scheduled for other eligible households. Families receiving Council Tax Support can expect a £50 voucher from December 15, while other supported households will receive a £70 voucher between December 3 and 12.
