Must read

Welsh actor Tony Adams, recognized for his roles in Crossroads, General Hospital, and Doctor Who, passed away at 84. Adams, hailing from Anglesey, portrayed Adam Chance in Crossroads from 1978 to 1988, becoming a significant character before exiting the show in 1987. Following his departure, Crossroads announced its end in April 1988, with Adams staying until the finale.

Although Adams reprised his role in the series’ 2001 revival, his character met a tragic fate. Reflecting on his early life, Adams was married to Winifred Brown, a notable sportswoman and aviator. In his youth, he graced the London stage and acted alongside Kenneth Williams in Peter Pan.

His television career flourished with his role as Dr. Neville Bywaters in General Hospital. Additionally, he appeared in Doctor Who as Elgin in The Green Death, though his illness during filming led to the redistribution of some of his lines.

Post-Crossroads, Adams starred in the stage production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at the London Palladium. In 2023, he made a cameo in the ITVX miniseries Nolly, depicting the life of his former colleague Noele Gordon, where he was portrayed by Augustus Prew.

Sadly, Adams passed away at Sussex County Hospital in Brighton on October 25, with his devoted wife, Christine, by his side. Christine has been praised for her unwavering support.
