Beauty Bay Faces Financial Woes, Enters Administration

Must read

Online retailer Beauty Bay is facing financial trouble as it has initiated the process to appoint administrators. This move signifies the company’s preparation to enter administration and enacts a temporary legal shield preventing creditors from taking legal actions for a period of ten days.

According to reports from Sky News, Beauty Bay filed the notice earlier this week. The company has also temporarily taken down its website, displaying a message stating, “We’ll Be Back Soon. BEAUTY BAY is offline right now, we’ll be back shortly.”

Established in 1999 by brothers Arron and David Gabbie in Manchester, Beauty Bay offers a wide range of products from over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, and MAC.

Earlier reports indicated that Beauty Bay was exploring various options to secure new funding, potentially including a complete sale of the business. Interpath, an advisory firm, has been working with Beauty Bay on a business review. The company currently employs 65 individuals, and inquiries for comments have been made by Mirror.

In related news, fashion retailer Quiz has also entered administration, resulting in the loss of 109 jobs. Redundancies are occurring at the company’s head office in Glasgow and warehouse in Lanarkshire. Quiz’s website has been deactivated, and customers with pending online orders are being informed that these orders will be canceled.

Quiz is directing customers to seek refunds from their banks or credit card providers if they paid more than £100 via credit card, with the possibility of utilizing Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Customers who used a debit card or spent less than £100 on a credit card may be eligible for refunds through Chargeback within 120 days of purchase.

Customers are also offered the option to exchange unwanted items in-store for products of equal value. Quiz’s physical stores are operational and will be holding clearance sales across all branches, although gift cards are no longer being accepted.

With 40 stores across the UK and concessions in New Look and Matalan outlets, Quiz’s concessions in these locations are not impacted by the administration process.
